Education is the key to a bright future – for our Nepali children and for the nation. But in most schools, the quality of education is very poor. Among the many problems including untrained and unmotivated teachers, expensive books and uniforms, crowded classrooms (often we find several classes in a single room). Of those children who do manage, against the odds to complete their schooling, very few are able to continue on to higher education.
In 2008, the Everest Foundation Nepal established an educational institution called Career Building International Academy (CBIA) to provide quality education with affordable fees. The Foundation aims to use its international networks to create a positive learning environment for its students, which includes an innovative curriculum, combining both local teachings and international theories. As well international volunteers work closely with local teachers to provide a broader knowledge of current world views to the student body. CBIA wants its students to aim high and prepares them for a future full of opportunities and choice of careers.
For Nepal to develop into a strong, internationally competitive nation its people must be well-educated, disciplined, hard working and self reliant. This can best be achieved through education which focuses on the development of creativity, curiosity, independence and analytic and problem solving skills. CBIA strives to provide such education to all its student members and associated staff.
The school currently has more than 600 students enrolled and has been running successfully under the proper management of educational professionals, which include highly qualified and experienced teachers, respected members of the community and international educators. The school management is fully dedicated to the educational development of the institution.
As of 2012, CBIA currently provide class levels from Playgroup to grade 10. CBIA is guided by the Nepali National Curriculum leading to the School Living Certificate. In addition we have expanded the curriculum to prepare students for their future careers and personal achievements.
